I Ignored All the Option Trading Experts and What Happened Next Will Shock You
An unconventional secret to be profitable in options trading that experts don't want you to know.
Nowadays, everyone seems fascinated with ready-made options trading strategies and tactics that market experts teach.
Options trading is often wrapped up nicely into courses, books, or tip services.
But what if the usual ways new traders try to jump into option trading have flaws?
Looking at Things Differently
I see many traders paying big money for popular courses and subscriptions for "hero-or-zero" trades, and the majority always seem to lose money.
The strategies being taught always seem perfect, yet only some people are able to replicate the success and be consistently profitable.
I have realized that genuinely profitable options trading doesn't come in a neat package.
We learn best by actually trading, not just reading or listening to others. Even veterans can't fully share what works through a course.
Because the tactics and tools we learn from successful traders about profitable options trading may not work alike for everyone.
A Beginner Trader's Guide to Profitable Option Trading
So, what does profitable option trading look like if we ignore the market experts?
Here is what I learned:
Question Everything: Don't blindly accept a strategy just because an expert says it will work. Analyze deeper, challenge assumptions, and ask, "Why?" What's taught is often based on limited information.
Learn from Mistakes: Losing trades provide valuable lessons about managing risk and finding flaws in strategies. Your experience will be unique to you. So, make your own mistakes, review them honestly, and learn your own lessons.
Discover Your Own Path: Study different approaches, paper trade strategies, and experiment. But passive learning alone is not enough - you must implement strategies by actually trading. Create your own path through back testing, analysis, fine-tuning, and repetition.
Make Learning Part of Trading: Apart from courses or books, processing each trade and capturing insights learned is critical. Don't separate learning and trading. Use trading journals, track successful traders, and integrate learning into your trading routine.
Changing the Culture of Retail Option Traders
This approach is not easy.
It's often dismissed with suspicion or defended loosely with "trust me; the method is proven."
But it's worth asking - are you making money with this common way of options trading? Are you okay with simply buying courses and trading strategies without proof they work in long run?
There's a better way. One that uses creativity, curiosity, and the inner trading drive within each of us.
It's about taking ownership of your trading, taking control, and not blindly following other's strategies.
Instead, maybe it's time you create your own cutting-edge trading strategies?
In Summary
The normal path to option trading may seem comfortable. But I didn't become a profitable trader using someone else's method.
Instead, I found taking an unconventional approach worked very well: I traded, reviewed, optimized, and evolved my own strategies.
So maybe it's time you started questioning experts, challenging the status quo, and designing your option trading strategy in your own way.
The best trading strategy is the one you develop yourself in your own style and is profitable in the long run.
And you know what? It will take time and effort, but the journey will always be worth it.
